Carolina's Mexican
Food
City: Phoenix
Tel: +1 602 252 1503
Namesake Carolina Valenzuela, who still presides over the kitchen, founded the restaurant
in 1968. It was first at 105 W. Hilton Ave. and later at 1519 E. Mohave St Since 1986, it
has been at 1202 E. Mohave in a building that also has housed a coin-operated laundry and
a grocery store. The character of the neighborhood is etched on the building's cinder-block
facade. Bullets have pockmarked the restaurant's skin and its windows and doors outfitted
with heavy metal security bars. It's around noon when we arrive, and a small lot at the
side of the restaurant is already full. We join other vehicles on the street, where my
friend's rented Cadillac seems out of place among the Mercedes-Benzes and BMW's.

Pine-Strawberry
Museum

Tel: +1 928 476 3547
Tucked just beneath Arizona's Backbone, the famed Mogollon Rim, the Pine-Strawberry Museum
in Pine, Arizona, was opened in 1979 for the purpose of displaying artifacts relative to
the prehistory and history of Pine and its twin among the pines, Strawberry. All around
us, the Mogollon Rim is a wilderness of ethereal beauty, carved majestically into
unmatched proportions. To our north and accessible from Highway 87 north of Strawberry,
the Rim Road, FR 300, is a twisting, graveled legacy to settlers and cavalry tenacity. The
community of Pine was settled in 1879 by Mormon pioneers, who endured many hardships
during their settlement of this untamed country. But through their determination and
faith, Pine survived. Much of what is displayed in the Pine-Strawberry Museum today is in
tribute to the dedication and hard work of our founding families. The museum relocated to
its current location in 1990 from a single room in the Isabelle Hunt Memorial Public
Library in Pine. This larger facility allows the display of more artifacts and documents;
especially those that pertain to the Native American cultures that occupied our area, the
first Spanish and Anglo pioneers to visit and settle the area, and the peoples who have
remained in the community since the initial settlement.

quality service possible. We believe that individual, personal service coupled with safety
is our highest objectives, and we operate our company on those principles.Air Grand Canyon
began operations at the Grand Canyon Airport Terminal on October 31, 1981. Air Grand
Canyon then consisted of only one Cessna 207 aircraft and two employees. In addition, we
were only one of two companies offering fixed wing scenic flights out of Grand Canyon
Airport. Since that time, Air Grand Canyon has grown its fleet from a single aircraft to
about a dozen, including single engine Cessna T207's and Cessna 182's. The number of
people to serve you has increased from just 2 to an average of 20.Since its inception, Air
Grand Canyon has flown almost 77,000 flights, and prides itself on its excellent safety
record. Air Grand Canyon continues to strive for the highest possible achievements in
safety and pilot training. At Air Grand Canyon, you can always trust your family with our
family. It is our privilege to serve you.
Heritage Park Zoo

Situated on ten acres in the heart of the Granite Dells area north of Prescott and
overlooking Willow Lake, this charming little zoo has a covered picnic pavilion with a BBQ
grill and small refrigerator, a children's playground, and boasts large, naturally
landscaped enclosures for the animals and paths which allow visitors the opportunity to
get an up-close and personal view of them. One of the most interesting exhibits, and one
which is unique to the Heritage Park Zoo, is the Tarantula Grotto. This building has a
distinct cave-like feel, and houses 26 different spiders from all over the world - 17 of
which are on display at any given time. Included in this stunning collection are two
specimens of the world's largest spider, the Goliath Bird eater. Currently under
construction is a 2,600 sq. ft. state-of-the-art Reptile Pavilion, which will house 27
different snake species including a 13 ft. Burmese Python; gila monster; geckos; skinks;
iguanas; crocodilians and monitor lizards. The zoo's plans for expansion include an insect
house, rattlesnake den and children's zoo.Other members of the zoo's collection include a
Bengal tiger who came from private ownership in Texas; a melanistic (black) jaguar who
came from the Wildlife World Zoo in Phoenix after his mother rejected him; an American
Black Bear who came to the zoo as a cub when his mother was mistakenly shot by a hunter; a
mountain lion who was found as a kitten in a burn pile in Montana; and a gray fox who was
rescued from the Aspen Fire in Tucson where she stayed to protect her newborn
kits.Heritage Park Zoo also has a prestigious role as participant in the American Zoo and
Aquarium Association's Species Survival Plan for the critically endangered Mexican Gray
Wolf. After a 20-year absence in the wild, this animal is being reintroduced to its former
range following a successful captive breeding program. The zoo is a housing facility for
three non-releasable wolves on loan from the federal government.
