For years, Alaska has been known for its wondrous size, its magnificent mountains, its trophy size game, and of course its salmon. But very little has been said about its huge northern pike. In fact Alaska's best kept secret is its large Northern Pike. And not just 10 or 15 pound fish, but 25, 30, and the occasional 40 pound monster! Located on a tributary that feeds the Yukon river, Midnight Sun offers the trip of a lifetime for those anglers interested in hooking the largest pike of their dreams. Midnight Sun Trophy Pike Adventures offers luxury, and comfort, while enjoying Alaska's remote wilderness on our custom-built houseboat (a new twist to sport fishing in Alaska). This boat is equipped with all of the modern amenities and plush trimmings. It also allows us to become mobile, moving with the pike as the season changes. The Yukon tributary you will be fishing provides the perfect environment for growing big pike; cool, slow-moving water; a food source of unlimited quantity; and the time to grow old and fat! With little competition from other anglers, these big pike are readily attainable.

Nome is a little know treasure for birders. The city of Nome is bounded by tundra on three sides and the Bering Sea coast on the other. Once the ice begins to break up, migration begins. Virtually the entire area of the Seward Peninsula that is accessible by road from Nome is comprised of extremely valuable nesting areas for many bird species including most North American waterfowl.Safety Sound, less than twenty miles from Nome on the Nome Council road, is a migrant trap before breakup. Observers have noted Emperor Geese, and Stellar's Eiders in this area. A Whooper Swan was sighted there for three weeks in the spring of 1991. Off-shore in open patches of water, called leads, ringed seal often bask on ice ledges. These leads also concentrate migrating waterfowl: Scoters, Eiders, Harlequin Ducks, Old Squaws, Arctic and Pacific Loons and, occasionally, Yellow-Billed Loons. Tufted and Horned Puffins, Common Murres, and Pelagic Cormorantare all possibilities in this bird rich area. The terminus of this road is Council, and is the only place accessible from Nome where boreal species may be found.
