When the WinterHaven Hotel opened in 1939 it was advertised as an "ultra modern" hotel with "large outside rooms," "a skytop solarium," "spacious lobby and mezzanine," "large veranda overlooking the ocean," and "$1 per night" rates.The meticulous restoration has preserved everything except the $1 per night rates!
Most of the 70 guest rooms feature ocean views. Top-of-the-line are the oceanfront rooms with spectacular beach and ocean views, one-or-two bedroom oceanfront suites with spacious corner bedrooms and adjoining parlors.
The hotel is within walking distance of all the shops, cafes and clubs of South Beach. The downtown Miami business district, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and Miami International Airport are all within a 15 to 20 minute drive.
