| Overlooking the San Francisco Bay, Treasure Island and the Bay Bridge, Hotel Griffon is located in the heart of the Financial District. Hotel Griffon was originally built in 1906. In 1989, after a complete refurbishment, it reopened as an upscale boutique hotel with European styling and deluxe guestrooms. In 1999, the hotel underwent another renovation of the Lobby, Restaurant and conversion of the top floor into all suites. There are now fifty-seven elegantly appointed guestrooms, six with breathtaking Bay views and five luxurious suites, three with privately furnished terraces and two with panoramic views of the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island.Upon entering the warm and welcoming lobby, you will notice the hotel's namesake, a papier-mache' griffon, marble flooring, plush loveseats and fireplace. Original 1906 white washed brick walls, lush green plants, mahogany bookcases and a series of framed, black and white photographs of Golden Gate Park make the lobby an inviting and intimate space to linger with all the comforts of home.
