The hotel is set amid seven acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, with rare tropical plants, specimen trees and reflecting pools. The complex has its own private garden - rarity among urban Los Angeles hotels - and employs a full-time gardening staff to maintain the exotic grounds.
In May 2001, the hotel completed a two-year, $70 million renovation and unveiled completely redesigned public spaces, including the lobby, restaurant, meeting spaces and grounds. The grounds include new outdoor function space and a new swimming pool and lounge area. The showpiece of the renovation was the launch of the new 35,000-square-foot Spa Mystique, the largest spa in Los Angeles.
The Westin Century Plaza Hotel & Spa features 728 luxuriously furnished guest rooms and suites, all contained in a gracefully curving 20-story building.
All rooms feature large private lanais affording magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean to the west and Beverly Hills and Hollywood to the east. All rooms and suites were redesigned and decorated by the internationally renowned design firm of Chhada Siembieda Remedios Inc.
The elegant bathrooms contain Westin's Heavenly BathTM, specially designed unique glass vanities, round mirrors, porcelain flooring, and polished chrome, warmed by cherrywood paneling and art-glass accents. The hotel's Penthouse Level features 14 spacious suites and houses both the elegant Presidential Suite and the Royal Suite.
