| The Phoenix Falcons School of Fencing is the largest and most successful combined youth and teen fencing club in the Southwest. It is also the only fencing school in the Southwest coached by a two-time national champion and Olympian.The Phoenix Falcons Fencing Club is founded and managed by Head Coach Skip Shurtz. The club is named after Skip's mentor, coach, and surrogate father Ralph Faulkner (affectionately known as The Boss) who, in his own right, became a legend in American Fencing. Maestro Faulkner was on two U. S. Olympic Teams and won one World Championship. Skip has followed in his footsteps as an Olympian and champion fencer in foil, epee & saber, and as a dedicated coach to both juniors and adults.
