| Here at Restaurante La Punta, we serve traditional New Mexican food. The tradition started in 1939 when my Grandmother (Chavez) Griggs and her eldest daughter Katy opened La Posta Restaurant in Old Mesilla, New Mexico. My grandmother was an excellent cook and passed her talents to her four children.The youngest of her children Consuelo and her husband Jack Thomas opened El Pinto Restaurant in 1962. My younger brothers John and Jim bought the restaurant in 1989. When passing through Albuquerque, visit El Pinto — it's an experience not soon forgotten.
