| Way back in 1976, when Flagstaff had about 50 places to eat, Ed Wojciak wandered west from New Jersey. Upon meeting his future wife, Brandy, the two teamed up and founded La Bellavia....occupying the space in the Merle Saver Building, which was once a TV. repair shop, pizza parlor, a Chicken Delight and a sub shop. Ed and Brandy worked hard to remodel and transform their odd shaped space into a workable restaurant.Years have passed and Flagstaff has about 250 places to eat, but La Bellavia still keeps trying to serve the best food around from its uniquely shaped space and historic south-side location.Brandy later expanded the business to include catering. There wasn't a party she couldn't add her innovative touches to. Her wedding cakes were out of this world...just ask any who's had one, she hasn't catered for over fifteen years and they still receive phone calls requesting wedding cakes! But, in 1993, when the opportunity arose to open a second restaurant, Brandy chose to devote her efforts full-time to the new location, thus ending her twelve-year catering career.
