| As the owner of Silver Salmon Creek Lodge, I'd like to share a little of my back-ground and welcome you to browse through our web site. I came to Alaska at age 2, in 1953, my parents being school teachers in the Lake Clark/Lake Iliamna area. My first memories in life revolved around playing outdoors and witnessing scenes of abundant fishing, hunting, and boating in Alaska's wild " bush," where we lived in a log cabin, packed our own water, and enjoyed a robust and rewarding lifestyle.Later, after my father was lost in a plane crash, we moved to the Kenai Peninsula, where I graduated from high school. Psychology was my subject of interest in college, which I studied at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. After working several years at a group home for troubled adolescents, I decided there was no better way to blend my love for the outdoors and still work with people than by establishing a wilderness facility where I could appreciate both.
