| Located atop Monte Sano Mountain the park was originally constructed in 1933 as a part of the Civilian Conservation Corp. Logs and stone from the mountain were used to construct many of the cabins, pavilions and trails. Spanish for Mountain of Health the 2400 acre park boasts panoramic views of the Tennessee Valley. Over 730 acres on the plateau, offers an array of recreational, educational and entertainment opportunities.
