Description
Come and enjoy the ambiance and southern hospitality in this turn-of-the-century house. The Rose House Inn, one of the oldest homes in Fayette, was constructed in 1898. This one-and-one half story, wood frame building is a good local example of Queen Anne style architecture and a landmark within the small town of Fayette.Fayette is located in northwest Alabama about 40 miles north of Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama. Its design elements include a wraparound porch, a hexagonal tower with a bell-shaped roof, and imbricated woodwork in some of its gables. The house suffered some unsympathetic alterations over the years, but in 1994 was sensitively restored. This Queen Anne cottage retains a high degree of architectural integrity and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
