| Midway between Birmingham and Anniston, The Governor's House overlooks Logan Martin Lake on Meadowlake Farm in east central Alabama. Built in 1850 by former Alabama governor Lewis Parsons, the house was originally located in Talladega. In May of 1990, it was moved to the owners' farm in Lincoln. After careful renovation, this gracious house was established as a bed and breakfast for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of country life, yet it is only two miles south of I-20.The Governor's House is surrounded by a beautifully manicured and expansive front lawn. Antiques, quilts, and accessories from the Shaw-Gaines families provide a homey atmosphere throughout the interior of the house and its guest rooms. The Shaw room, with king-sized bed, offers a private bath, while two other rooms share a bath. The Daughters room has two twin beds, and The Glidewell has a queen-sized bed.
